Oleg Poliansky is a native of Kyiv, Ukraine and he is the prize winner of many international competitions including the prestigious international Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow. In addition to that, he won prizes in Tokyo, Montreal, Marseille, and he won the `World Piano Competition in Cincinnati as well as at `Citta di Cantu twice. Over the course of his career Poliansky has made appearances at the largest international concert arenas and given concerts as a soloist with leading orchestras. He has performed numerous solo recitals, highly acclaimed by public and music critics; he has been a regular guest at international festivals, is a prolific chamber musician, and has produced numerous recordings. Oleg is a stunning pianist and highlights of this concert will include selections by Tchaikovsky and other grand masters along with an interlude of native Ukrainian folk music.
Jacques – Pierre Malan is a native of South America and international prize-winning cellist. Mr. Malan is the Artist-in-Residence at the Embassy Series in Washington D.C. where he engages not only as a musician but as a producer responsible for developing programs with humanitarian themes. In addition, Mr. Malan is the founder and cellist with the Embassy String Quartet and a member of the Serafin Ensemble.
Founded in 1994 The Embassy Series has worked with over 200 Ambassadors, produced 600 concerts and performed in 73 different embassies. Their concerts have featured over 800 international artists and 300 plus Washington D.C. area artists.
